Q: How does the contest work?
A: We host the Dream Quest One Poetry and Writing Contest to inspire and encourage new and experienced literary artists to submit their short stories and poetry to be recognized worldwide. We welcome you to share your hopes, aspirations and dreams of being published and to continue being successful poets and writers. Creativity, imagination, innovation and the ability to dream is an inspiration to others, even if you have no experience in poetry or writing. This contest is held semi-annually.

Q: What prizes can I win?
A: There are three poetry prizes and three writing prizes totaling $1275.00. You can win up to $250.00 for writing a poem and win up to $500.00 for writing a short story.

Q: When is the deadline for the current Dream Quest One Poetry & Writing Contest – Winter 2017 – 2018?
A: The current Winter 2017-2018 postmark deadline to submit all poems and short stories electronically or via postal mail is February 28, 2018. All poems and short stories entries must be postmarked and/or submitted by February 28, 2018, at 11:59 PM – Pacific Standard Time (PST). You may Enter Now for a chance to win cash prizes totaling $1275.00!

Q: When will the current Winter 2017 – 2018 Poetry & Writing Contest winners be published?

A: The Dream Quest One Poetry & Writing Contest – Winter 2017 – 2018 winners will be notified and published online in the Dare to Dream pages, on March 31, 2018. Stay tuned!

Q: When will the Summer 2017 Contest winners published?
A: The Dream Quest One Poetry & Writing Contest – Summer 2017 winners notification and publishing date will be online in the Dare to Dream pages, on November 12, 2017.

Q: Are previously published poems and short stories allowed to enter the poetry and writing contests?
A: Yes, you may enter previously published poems and short stories which are absolutely welcome, as long as they are original works created by the contest entrant(s).

Q: May I submit more than one poem and/or short story to enter this competition?

A: Yes, multiple and simultaneous entries are accepted in both the Poetry Contest and the Writing Contest.

Q: How do I enter the contest by mail?
A: Send original poems, 30 lines or fewer, on any subject or theme, in any style, or form, neatly hand printed or typed, using single or double line spacing. Submit short stories, (5) pages maximum, on any subject, any theme, fiction, nonfiction or creative nonfiction, neatly hand printed or typed, using single or double line spacing. The entry fee is $5.00(USD) per poem. The entry fee is $10.00(USD) per short story. Mail your entry fees payable to: “DREAMQUESTONE.COM,” and mail your poem(s)/short story(ies) to the following address:
